My Philosophy

As a mind-body coach, Susan helps people break free from cycles and find peace within their bodies and minds. Through individual coaching sessions, she works together with her clients to help them understand their patterns, family dynamics, attachment styles and intergenerational trauma. By providing a safe space for clients to turn inwards, she helps them develop coping skills and lifestyle habits that feel natural, accessible, and sustainable.

Susan also helps clients explore alternative ways of healing their minds and bodies, with a bio-individual approach. Integrating her training as a talk-therapist, yoga instructor, and holistic nutrition coach, Susan helps empower people on their healing journey to create health and wellness changes that last a lifetime.

Susan is a Mind-Body Coach, with a Master’s of Science in Counseling and Higher Education, and extensive graduate coursework and training in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a certified Holistic Nutrition Coach, as well as a 200 hour + certified Yoga Instructor. She has over 15 years of experience helping people develop their own mind-body awareness to make sustainable changes to both their emotional and physical wellbeing.

About Me

I understand, first hand, what it’s like to feel tired and wired, over and underwhelmed, in a constant state of fight or flight, and never feeling fully present in my own body and mind. I have struggled with anxiety, thyroid issues, high levels of cortisol, and food restricting for many years. I am also the survivor of childhood trauma.

In the early 2000’s I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and told that I needed to either get my thyroid removed or take radioactive iodine to dissolve part of my thyroid away. I was scared, confused, and felt completely blindsided. During this time I was running five plus miles a day, under the guise of the “run to eat” plan that I had devised inside my mind (the more I ran, the more I could eat). I thought that I was embodying the perfect picture of health by running, eating, and still losing weight every week. But that was just what was happening on the outside of me.

On the inside I was struggling with anxiety, working a job that left me feeling overworked and under appreciated, my childhood trauma was resurfacing, and I was telling lies to myself on a daily basis. I needed to make some big changes to my life, but had no idea how or where to even begin.

When I finally developed the skills I needed to holistically rebuild my health, I was able to work towards my healing journey. These steps incorporated my mind, body, and spirit. I learned new ways to nourish myself on every level, brought joy back to my movement practice, and discovered what worked for me to make consistent and life long habits that served my whole being. I have been helping people heal their mind and bodies ever since.

Being on this self-healing journey is a life long process. Our healing is never linear. I bring this sense of non-judgement and open curiosity to my practice and am dedicated to helping my clients listen to and trust their intuition.
